What happens if my payout fails or is reversed?

Last updated on 05 May, 2026

Sometimes a payout cannot be completed after it has been submitted. This can happen when beneficiary details are incorrect, the destination bank rejects the payment, a payment corridor has an outage, a compliance review blocks the payout, or settlement takes longer than expected.

If a payout fails, Bancoli will show the payout as failed and begin the reversal process. The exact timing depends on when the destination provider returns the funds.

When the reversal is complete, the returned amount is credited back to your Bancoli wallet balance. If the payout involved a conversion, Bancoli will reverse the failed payout and return the corresponding wallet balance after funds are received back from the payout provider.

Fees for failed payouts are generally reversed in full when Bancoli is able to complete the reversal. If a payout failed because the sender provided inaccurate or incomplete payment instructions, an exception handling fee may apply.

For compliance-related blocks, Bancoli may only be able to provide a general status update. In some cases, regulations limit the details we can share.

If your payout failed, review the beneficiary name, bank account number, routing or bank code, country, currency, and any required local payment details before trying again.
